PEARLAND OLD TOWNSITE HOSTS “FIRST LOOK” EVENT
Elected Officials, City Staff, and Economic Development Council Tour Newest Community
PEARLAND, TEXAS, May 6, 2024 – Sullivan Brothers Builders hosted a “First Look” event on Thursday, April 25, 2024, at the site of their newest community, Pearland Old Townsite. The private event was exclusively for City of Pearland city staff, elected officials, and Pearland Economic Development Council staff and leadership.
This “first look” event allowed Sullivan Brothers Builders an opportunity to thank the city and EDC for their partnership and contributions that enabled the project to move forward. Attendees walked the first three homes under construction, including two single-story bungalows and one two-story home, that exemplify the construction and streetscape Pearland can anticipate.
“Pearland Old Townsite features classic architecture with modern interiors and conveniences,” remarked Scott Burrer, Managing Director at Sullivan Brothers Builders. “The variations in the single and two-story elevations are reminiscent of historic neighborhoods, and the addition of front porches encourages community interaction and getting to know your neighbor, a hallmark of the city of Pearland.”
The Pearland Economic Development Council contributed vital infrastructure funding to replace or upgrade water and sewer mains, storm drainage, improve streets, and provide for new streetlight illumination.
“This highlights what a public-private partnership can do,” said City of Pearland Mayor Kevin Cole. “It took a spark to focus on this area, and we want to thank you for that. As we move forward with the OTS redevelopment plan, we would like SBB to have a seat at the table, as they know and understand redevelopment; what is here and what could be here.”
